Shades Cliff Pool has been a favorite swimming outlet to the residents of Bluff Park for more than 50 years. The pool offers a safe, clean, fun, and friendly environment for its local neighborhood members. Enjoy the large swimming pool, the competition style diving boards, and even a small wading pool for the smallest of our members. As the home of The Sharks, we also host swim and dive team meets every summer against other local clubs.
The staff at Shades Cliff consists of a manager, certified lifeguards, swim coaches, and dive coaches. Swim lessons are open to children who have turned 4 years old PRIOR to the first day of swim lessons. There is limited space available. Services
The club membership is limited to 400 families and the club is currently at full membership.
The wait to become a member is currently 4-5 years.
New members are offered membership based on a first-come-first-served basis according to when the request to be added to the waiting list is received.
When it is your turn, you will be notified by a board member via phone and/or email.
It doesn't cost anything to be added to the waiting list.
Once membership is offered, new members will pay the following one time fees: $250 initiation fee and $200 stock fee.

SCST is a mid-sized team in the Jefferson Shelby Swim League.
Each summer, in June and July, the Shades Cliff Sharks swim up to six regular season meets against other Birmingham area swim clubs on Tuesday evenings.
The summer season wraps up with the Senior County Championships where athletes who meet the time standards set forth by the league compete against each other to determine who is the county champ.

Swim team - $124 for first swimmer, $114 for each additional swimmer, senior swimmer (15 yrs & up) $99 each.

Dive team - $124 for first diver, $114 for each additional diver, senior diver (15 yrs & up) $99 each.
The team fees cover your swimmer's activation, a competition swim cap, a team tshirt, team backpack, all regular season meets, and county registration fees.
