Stanfield Shutter Company is Utah's premier interior shutter manufacturer serving Utah for over 70 years. Stanfield Shutter, Utah's first interior shutter company, has grown to specialize in all types of shutters from traditional styles to wood plantation shutters. With all of our shutters, we use the most advanced and proven methods to mill, assemble, finish, and install shutters.

This includes all our shutters including custom shapes for arches, angles, circles, ovals, octagons, and square/rectangle shaped windows. Each of these includes a limited lifetime warranty. We are proud to service Northern Utah areas including Salt Lake City, Murray, West Jordan, Sandy, South Jordan, West Valley, Lehi, Draper, Layton, Park City, and Tooele.

These economical shutters are warp free, have smooth painting surfaces, and retain the same strength and resistance of natural hardwood! Basswood has small or no knots, and because of that pattern Basswood lends itself more to a classical or a traditional decorating style.

The name Basswood is derived from the inner bark, or "bast" of the tree which was used by Native Americans to make rope.
Basswood is one of the most versatile hardwoods available in the United States because its natural color is a light creamy-white and the wood is readily adaptable and moldable to almost any application.
It is because of this versatility that Basswood is used in shutter manufacturing since it can be either painted or stained depending on the needs or desires of the customer.
While Basswood looks very nice painted and works out well in those situations, most of our customers do not have us use Basswood when they have a painted finish.
Knotty Alder grows, typically, along the Pacific Northwest in North America.
In recent years Knotty Alder has surged in popularity in the building industry.
Many consumers now have their furniture, kitchen cabinets, shutters, and mouldings (among other things) made with Knotty Alder.
Knotty Alder is primarily used in stained applications because of its nice grain structure and the rustic knots that accent the hardwood.
It is due to this unique and beautiful grain structure as well as the availability and relative inexpensiveness (when compared to other hardwoods) of Knotty Alder that it has steadily grown to become the most popular hardwood used in stained applications.
