Jon O'Malley, owner of The Blind Buddy, started working in the window treatment business when he was a sophomore in high school for a family owned company named Lark Blind and Shade. He worked there every summer and while attending college for about 8 years. Jon eventually began working as an installer for another company in the suburbs. During this time he also did side jobs for family and friends, buying the products online.
While working there, Jon met a sales rep for a well known distributor who set him up with his own account and he was off and running. In 1996, Jon joined law enforcement, expanding his contact base selling blinds to fellow workers and friends. He became a fireman in 2006 and continued to expand his blind business, supplying custom window treatments at very affordable prices.
Jon has been in the blind business for over 25 years and enjoys seeing his customers when their new treatments are installed and they are happy with their choices.
