We took this family room from 1990's country cottage, with bead board walls, a colonial fireplace and denim sofas to a fresh updated look. We took off the traditional mantel and cladded the wall with stack stone veneer, adding a wall mounted TV, and two off set floating ledge mantles. We also maximized the seating space in this small area by using a Klaussner sectional with chaise.
The old room had seating for 4, now it can easily entertain 8. The driftwood coffee table and round area rug anchor the whole space, and give it a focal point. This client had enjoyed his home for over 20 years, but had always wanted a fireplace.
