Austin Blind & Drapery was started in 1995, under the name of The Curtain Call. Cheryl Tyndall, owner, was responsible for the design, sewing, and installation of all soft window treatments created specifically for her clients. Cheryl received her degree in Fashion Merchandising in 1990, but soon realized that her passion was for textiles rather than clothing design.

She operated her own drapery workroom and was responsible for the complete turnaround on her designs. Cheryl is an accomplished seamstress who still continues to create historical costuming using the fabrics from the line she carries. After the birth of her daughter, Lauryn, she began to employ an award-winning workroom for her custom sewing needs.

In addition, Cheryl now carries an extensive line of blind, shade, shutter, and faux iron offerings that creates or completes any design imaginable. In 2007, Banyan Productions contacted Cheryl, looking for an individual who could work on the site of "Trading Spaces" being filmed in Austin.
